Broncos defeat Great Bend 5-4

EL DORADO – Tanner Schuetz put El Dorado ahead for good with a solo homer in the fifth as the Broncos edged Great Bend 5-4 Wednesday at McDonald Stadium.

Mitch McIntire got the win, going six innings and allowing five hits and four runs. Kolton Schenker (7th), Garrett Glass (8th) and Garrett Hutson (9th) blanked Great Bend the final three innings. Hutson worked a 1-2-3 ninth to earn the save.
The Broncos struck for two runs in the second. John Legare singled and Tanner White doubled him in.
White scored on Ben Olson’s single.
El Dorado got two more in the third. Aaron Mack waked and Kyle Barfield followed with his second homer of the summer.
Tied at four, Schuetz took an outside pitch and drove it over the right-field wall for what proved to be the game-winner.
