Diana’s life began on April 16, 1950 in Wichita. She is the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Sanders) Dawson. Diana is a 1968 graduate of Wichita East High School. She was united in marriage to Virgil Ray Foote on June 2, 1973 in Wichita. Diana took a job with McDonald’s in El Dorado in 1981 and stayed 26 years until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in El Dorado, and the Prairie Port Chapter of the Good Sam Camping Club. Diana was an avid crocheter and enjoyed making lots of blankets. She always loved new babies and especially her own grandchildren.
Diana’s loving family includes her son Virgil “Ray” (Sara Good) Foote, Jr. of El Dorado grandchildren Zachary, Chloe and Aubree Foote; brothers Howard (Marti) Dawson of Fallbrook, CA, Duane (Diann) Dawson of Park City and Kevin (Joann) Dawson of Wichita; sister in law Carolyn Harp; mother in law Melba Foote; nieces and nephews Nicholas, Marina, Randi, Dan, Carrie, Sarah, Samantha and Seth. Diana passed away on December 25, 2017 in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Virgil, her brother Alan Dawson, and niece Jennifer Dawson.
Diana’s family will gather with friends on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Her requiem mass will be celebrated on Tuesday January 2nd at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church by Mother Christine Gilson. She will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery, Winfield following the mass. Memorial contributions in Diana’s name may be directed to Trinity Episcopal Church.
