Gay’s life began on July 5, 1962, the daughter of Donald and Vinita “Jean” (Bell) Brickley in El Dorado, Kansas. Gay was a public and a private school teacher, homeschooled her own children and also owned and operated her own preschool in their home. She loved Jesus Christ and her family most of all, but just enjoyed people, her pets, camping, the lake, waterskiing and reading.
Her loving family includes her husband, Steve of the home; parents, Don and Jean Brickley of El Dorado; children, Megan, Alisha and Jadon Crosley; siblings, John (Christine) Brickley of El Dorado, Jan Thompson of Haiti, and Kay (Wayne) Taylor of El Dorado; step-mother-in-law, Lyla Crosley and sister-in-law, Debbie Meade both of Pretty Prairie, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews. Gay passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017, having reached the age of 55 years old.
Her family will gather on Tuesday, December 12, from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 13, at 1:00 p.m. led by Pastors Dave Slayton and Colby Taylor at First Baptist Church. Gay will be laid to rest in Walnut Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in El Dorado.
