Larry Adams of El Dorado passed away peacefully at his home on July 11, 2017. He was born in El Dorado on March 3, 1940, to parents Russell and Marie Adams. He grew up in El Dorado, where he met Darlene Schowalter, and they married on December 22, 1959. Larry worked for Becker Trucking until they moved to Eureka, Kansas in 1971, where he owned and operated a gas station and Tonovay Tool Company. They later moved to and worked in many locations, including Mt. Sterling, Illinois, Silsbee, Texas, Aransas Pass, Texas, Phoenix, Arizona, Los Angeles, California, and Graham, Texas, and then they moved back to El Dorado. He enjoyed going to the coffee shop, built 3 – three wheeled motorcycles “trikes”, and was a member of The Brothers of the Third Wheel and the Lions Club.
His loving family includes his wife Darlene; son, Galen (Janet) Adams of Towanda; daughter, Dee Anne (Tony) Grunder of El Dorado; sister, Donna Petry of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Nicholas, Rachel, Taylor, Alec, Katie, Shannon, and Alex, and four great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Desmond Eugene; and a brother, Larren Dean Adams.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, at 10:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated by retired Pastor Steve Hysom.
