At age 4 she was adopted by a Frank and Nadine Gray. She attended school at FlintHills in Rosalia, KS. She was quite active in 4H and loved showing cattle.

After high school, Paula married and had 4 children. She worked as a house wife and for a short time as a CNA in a nursing home. It warmed her heart to work as a CNA. She had many stories about the residents that she worked with. Her face just lit up with the biggest smile. She also helped with 4H projects and made sure that her children were at the various classes/meetings/events. She enjoyed attending the 4H fair, school functions and various other events with her children. It was through a 4H class that Paula learned to knit and crochet. She lived holidays with the families and could always be seen in the kitchen helping. She was a wonderful cook and baked excellent desserts.
In the early 2000s Paula decided that she wanted to look into her adoption records. The search into these records filled her heart with joy. She found that she had many’s brothers and sisters and she was able to connect with several. When she spoke of talking to or meeting a new family member you could feel her excitement. She was so happy to find such great people and loved being part of a big family.
Paula decided to go to OTR trucking school. It was shortly after completion that she met and married Jerry Drake. They spent several years as owner/operators in the trucking industry until they decided to come off the road and spend more time with family. They shared a love for animals and raised Chihuahua puppies.

Paula was the type of person that would give you the shirt off her back. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud of her kids. She took many people in and treated them as family. She loved animals and thought of them as her babies. You could always count on her to be there for you. She was a special woman that touched many hearts. She will be missed greatly.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to the family to assist with miscellaneous medical expenses.
