Phyllis’ life began on July 9, 1935 in El Dorado. She is the daughter of Leo and Pansy (Bloir) Sullivan. Phyllis is a graduate of El Dorado High School. She was united in marriage to Franklin D. Anderson on November 6, 1953 in El Dorado and later was married to Dick Pennington after Franklin’s death. Dick preceded her in death this year. Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper for the family business Frank Anderson Vacuum Trucking for many years; she worked for a short time for Walters Flowers and Gifts and was a caring homemaker. Phyllis was a member of First Christian Church, the Dust to Derrick Club, TOPS, and her sorority. She enjoyed spending time at her home in Mission, TX, motorhome travelling throughout the country, sewing and crocheting blankets and arranging flowers.
Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children Teresa (Bill) Brentlinger of El Dorado, Stephanie Nudo of Wichita, and Paul (Lauri) Anderson of San Antonio, TX, grandchildren Erin (Zach) Regnier, Chad Brentlinger, Mickenzi (Nathan) Evers, Dominick Nudo, Cole and Camille Anderson, great grandchildren Hailey Rutter, Ashley Evers, Calley Evers and Colston Regnier and her brother John Sullivan of Weatherford, TX. Phyllis passed away on Saturday March 11, 2017 in Wichita. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, son Rick Anderson and sister Rosemary Kelly.
Phyllis’ family will gather with friends on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at First Christian Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. led by Pastor Stan Seymour. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
