WACO, TX — No. 8 Wichita State snapped No. 16 Baylor’s 46-game non-conference home winning streak Saturday afternoon.
Conner Frankamp scored a team-high 17 points on 5-of-8 three-point shooting and tied Landry Shamet‘s recently established school record for consecutive games with a three-pointer (now 29-and-counting).
Baylor (5-2) lost a non-conference game at the Ferrell Center for the first time since December, 2012 (vs. Northwestern). The Bears’ streak was the second-longest in Division I behind Duke (136).
WSU extended its own road winning streak to seven games and claimed its first top-25 road win since February 11, 2012 (89-68 at No. 12 Creighton).
The Shockers are a national-best 42-6 in true road games since the start of the 2013-14 campaign.
WSU outrebounded Baylor 38-36 and hit 10-of-16 attempts from three-point range (.625). The Shockers finished at 43.5 percent overall from the field, while holding Baylor to 37.3 percent shooting.
