CASSODAY — Three people were taken to the hospital Monday after possibly being struck by lightning.
The three were injured around 4 p.m. Monday at the Kansas Turnpike maintenance facility near the Cassoday exit. Those injured were working along the highway when lightning struck their car, Kansas Turnpike Authority said. One was inside the car and two were standing near it.
Butler County EMS transported all three to a Wichita hospital where two were treated and released. One man was listed as being in fair condition and kept overnight for observation.
