Towanda water service to experience interruptions

TOWANDA – Water users in the City of Towanda shouldn’t be alarmed if they don’t have service at some point this weekend. Maintenance projects continue in the community.

The City of Towanda Water Department will be working with the Rural WaterDistrict this Sunday, December 10, 2017 to replace a bypass valve in the City water tower.” City Manager Matt Engels said in a release. “This will interrupt water service between the hours of 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM in the Timber Point division and immediate area, and may cause low water pressure in the surrounding area.”

The date was picked to minimize potential problems that could be caused by performing the maintenance during the work week.

“A Sunday was chosen to avoid disruption of sessions and fire protection at the school.” Engels said. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”
