WICHITA – The National Weather Service says we may continue to be in for a slick week as the area was left covered in ice today, and more winter precipitation is expected through Thursday.
As for Tuesday, the Wichita forecast office says that areas of sleet & freezing rain will continue across the highlighted areas the rest of the morning.
“Remain alert for slick roads & highways, even where the wintry mix has ended.” the Weather Service noted.
Meteorologists went on to shed some light on the timeline for the predicted freezing weather.
“A mix of wintry precipitation is possible on Wednesday night into Thursday across most of Kansas.” Forecasters said on Tuesday. “Light accumulation is anticipated at this time.”
Areas north and east of the Wichita metro are expected to receive up to 0.20 inches of ice through the rest of Tuesday.
